Little Monsters

Prior to Halloween we went down to Disneyland for their "Little Monsters" event which is basically a pre-Halloween Halloween bash for cast members and their friends and families. Ryan and Ulysses joined us. Jack, of course, went with an Indiana Jones look (jacket/shirt combo thanks to Nanny). G placated him with a cookie whilst we awaited Ryan and the U-man.

At first Jack was in "no pictures!" mode as he marched around Town Square in Disneyland having all sorts of imaginary Indy action. But I snapped a few off while he was off-guard.

Like this one, climbing on the back of the Disneyland Fire Truck and striking an Indy-esque pose --

A nice couple was sitting in the Square while I was trying to take pictures of an uncooperative Jack-Jack. I snapped a few off while Jack explained whatever his Indiana Jones cosmology de jeur was (it's usually something extraordinarily complicated).

Every once in a while you luck out and take a really great picture of someone. It might not be aesthetically the greatest, and like the following shot, may be out of focus and poorly composed. But just because you are lucky, you manage to get a snap which really tells you everything you need to know about the subject. This picture, for me, is one of those. The expression on his face, the attitude of the pose, the earnestness and sincerity, the sweetness of Jack's personality, all come across in this photo, as Jack explains to the young man above some of the finer points of his version of the Indiana Jones universe. It's one of my all-time favorites.

Jack and Ulysses never seemed to tire of playing "crash into each other and splay ourselves out on the ground." Here are the results, literally from one end of Disney's California Adventure to another.

Two dads, well-laden:

Ride 'em, Indy!
