Monkeying around

Last weekend we went to Disneyland (surprise!) When we arrived Donald was doing photos on Main Street so we had to get one with Jack. Please note the utter lack of any kind of response on Jack's face. What does it take to get a rise out of this kid? We had breakfast at the Storytellers' Cafe in the Grand Californian Hotel. It's a character breakfast spot, so Chip and Dale, some giant raccoon, and Koda from Brother Bear were all running about, visiting tables. Jack was confronted with all these creatures and greeted them with aplomb. Most children are either delighted or terrified; Jack takes it as a matter of course. Perhaps it's because he's been going to Disneyland since he was just a few weeks old! I still remember his horrified reaction to the parrot mascot at the baseball game. SInce then, he has become fearless.Mommy and Jack flew high with Dumbo!A voyage on the Mark Twain is always a nice and relaxing trip.
Mickey, Goofy and Minnie emabark on an expedition to the peak of the Matterhorn each day.

Back home, not a lot of Jack news. He had a little ear infection, requiring antibiotics etc. -- might have it still; he woke up whining about every hour last night, so mommy and daddy are groggily stumbling around today -- we have to go back to the doctor later in the week for a follow-up visit. Food introductions are great fun and continue, with carrots being the latest to receive the Jack seal of approval.

This is one of my favorite little things of Jack's. He has a bunch of different animal towels for after his bath but his monkey towel is the best.Jack has taken a much greater interest in Boris of late. Just watching Boris walk across the room elicits peals of giggles from Jack. Fortunately, Boris is the most sweet-natured doggie I have ever encountered -- most people who know him will agree. Even when Jack gets a handful of hair and pulls -- and as a hirsute papa I know how much that hurts with Jack's little kung fu grip -- Boris will just turn around and lick Jack's chin as if to say, "I know you don't mean anything but, hey, guy . . ." This will surprise Jack so he will loosen his grip.

I love seeing you, Jack! You are sooooo cute! I think I like your monkey towel shots the best. But you are also so cool in your Disney shots!--Love, hugs, and kisses from Nanny
