An Adventure at the Zoo

Last weekend we took advantage of the membership we bought to the LA Zoo earlier this year. We spent a splendid few hours visiting the animals. It was very hot -- much hotter, in fact, than it was in Monrovia, which is a switch -- so the animals were pretty mellow. The apes in particular were just chilling out in the shade. Still, it was very fun. Jack struck the pose above outside the orangutan enclosure.

Every adventurer must be well-provisioned. I am pretty sure Sir Ranulph Fiennes uses a similar sippy-cup on his adventures.

Among the attractions was this replica of the many prehistoric caves to be found in the wilderness areas of California. Indiana Jack strode bravely within . . .

And what's a visit to the zoo without a good old-fashioned goat-combing?

Jack was a natural at goat tonsory! Will this wonder-child's skills ever cease to amaze?
